Bed
Thursday. To bed early last night, lights out before ten, to awaken at six-twenty, right on target. A little slow getting up, but felt better once out the door on another cool morning (again in the light winter jacket), albeit walking a more slowly than usual. Takes this morning walk to get the motor running.
Arrived at seven, ordered the single pork chop, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee breakfast, finishing the papers by a quarter to nine. OK, out the door to have the bus roll up and start loading at the stop in front of the restaurant, enough people waiting in line to board that it was still there when I'd finished taking the usual picture of the gas station and along the sidewalk. What the hell, it's overcast and so got on board to get home before nine.
Remembered the Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford Senate hearing had started at seven and so turned on the television first thing when I got through the door before sitting down to look at yesterday's entry. I'd stopped writing in the afternoon and the mind was blank for anything to add for the evening other than the usual took the blood pressure, watched something on the tablet and skipped television altogether and so just said the hell with it and posted. We'll do better today. Or tomorrow.
Later. Watched the Senate hearing on PBS from when I got home at nine until the end. We'll see how people have reacted to it these next few days, but I suspect the Republicans will push him through and place him on the court. The thought remains: what happens if a news organization comes up with more corroborating evidence after he's seated and it becomes obvious Kavanaugh was lying through his (clenched) teeth? Are the Republicans taking that possibility into consideration when they're pushing through the vote? Will it even matter to them if it causes them to tank in the coming mid-term election?
Ah, well: tired. I'm babbling. Maybe just retire for now for the while.
Evening. Watched some good guys-bad guys stuff on the tablet before getting up at eight to watch a new episode of Vera on PBS. Still tired, but surprised myself by lasting through the end before heading to bed.
