One or two of the journals listed have been around longer than I have - perhaps they're looking to win some kind of “crazier than thou journal keeper” competition - all of them are listed because I like their approach, because I like their photographs, because they struck a chord at some point (take your pick) and I've continued to read them with interest. I typically check for new entries once a day which is easy enough as the list is small. I've resolved to add more during this coming year of 2008.
I look at the “Other Stuff” now and again, most often Glenn Greenwald's media blog on Salon.com as he has a Constitutional law focus that gets me off. I've forgotten exactly how I ran across most of them and why I chose to list them here, but I'm sure there's a good reason for each.
