I Guess

Sunday. Good grief, I'm going to be on a train tomorrow evening. What's been coming has now arrived. Time passes quickly (as one or two may have opined in the past).

Lights out last night before ten, awake this morning a good half hour before the alarm, the sky clear, a sunny day ahead. Off to breakfast over the Sunday papers, back now having posted yesterday's entry, the head relatively clear, the attitude good. Some downside to that, posting an entry with a clearer than usual head. But I grouse about these entries enough as it is.

Some preparation today for tomorrow's journey I would think. Get the laptop batteries charged, files transferred, some thinking about what to pack. Put the camera gear together, certainly. Hmm. The train tomorrow, certainly a break in my routine.

Later. A real nap. Obviously needed that. Up to head over to the lake for a brief walk about, not stopping to watch the Capoeira dancers work out, but heading back thinking what's to do now? And mumbling about the lack of energy I'd put into the pictures. And not setting the ISO high enough to properly nail the egret.

Back thinking, well, best to go by an ATM today and again tomorrow, as I probably won't have access to one while I'm gone and so a bus to the ATM on Broadway, buying a sandwich at Subway near the bus stop. No thought to get off at the 7-11 look-alike for an ice cream bar. Not hungry, not energetic or interested enough to get off the bus, buy one and then undertake the short walk on to the apartment.

Which means?

Which means the day has been rather dead. Well, the day is fine, I'm the one who's washed out. Best I'm on the road tomorrow, might just clear some of the carbon out.

Later still. A crappy day, no doubt about it, but at least I've gotten the camera gear packed, the batteries charged, the files needed moved to the laptop (I really only use the laptop when I'm traveling, something you may have noticed I've pretty much stopped doing anymore) and the last minute arrangements made. Tomorrow a haircut, final preparations and a train after nine that night.

Evening. Nothing on television. Probably for the best. I've been tired all day without the ability to sleep. Took the last of the extra pain meds, we'll see how that goes through this coming week. A test of sorts, I guess.

The photo up top was taken yesterday by Lake Merritt with a Nikon D4s mounted with an 24-120mm f/4.5-5.6 VR Nikkor lens.
