Time
Wednesday. To sleep after ten to awaken then at close to six and half listen to Democracy Now! in a fog before getting up as usual at seven-thirty and drive to breakfast. Should have walked, but something had me put the car keys in my pocket before setting out and so I drove under clear and sunny skies to park in front of the restaurant, enter the closed off dining room, turn on the lights and settle in with the papers.
For some reason I'd received two copies of the Chronicle and no New York Times this morning for a second time in this last week. Not sure what's happening with that. Why two Chronicles? Sounds like an error, but their plastic bags come in different colors and so two yellow Chronicles instead of a yellow Chronicle and a blue New York Times doesn't make any sense.
The two strips of bacon, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for no good reason, we're still after the weight, to finish up just before nine and set out for home, taking the selfie in the lobby before settling in with yesterday's entry, finish it off and post. I talk about awakening and then listening to the radio news in a fog, maybe I should describe writing here as a kind of fog.
Which you just did.
Maybe no need to relay what is already too obvious to state.
Later. The box of face masks I'd ordered through Amazon from China had ended up sitting in Hong Kong for a week (Amazon let me know it was stalled for some reason and they'd return the purchase price if it didn't arrive) now seems to have landed at Los Angeles customs when I checked earlier and so I'm guessing they'll arrive in a few days.
I still have a number of 3M N95 masks I'd bought during the forest fires we'd had these last years and they keep you from inhaling as well as exhaling the virus, but I'll run out of them in another month and these masks from China will be needed. These cloth masks keep you from infecting others, but don't stop the virus from entering your own lungs, so they're not as useful, but at least I won't get glaring looks for being mask-less when the N95's are gone.
Played some music, skipped watching anything on the tablet until later than usual, half listened to the news on television feeling reasonably good, but no thought to go outside. None. Not sure why.
Evening. Brushed my teeth and washed the mouth out with Act Dry Mouth mouthwash this evening that the dentist has had me on now for years as it requires you to not eat or drink anything afterward for at least an hour, doing this early this evening to make me avoid eating before bed. Wasn't hungry, but I realized this shelter in place business has been causing me to eat more than I should, hungry or not, and this has so far turned out to be a successful ploy.
Watched Midsomer Murders for the hell of it and then went to bed, lights out and radio off at the usual time.
