Pilot
Thursday. Awoke at six-thirty, after a decent night's sleep on this sunny morning, to get up at the usual time and drive to the Lakeshore ATM before heading over the hill to breakfast, park and then enter the closed off dining area to turn on the lights and settle in with the papers. All in all a decent start.
The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, the weight much better on the scale this morning, finishing up after nine to drive home and find the key to the garage door wouldn't turn in the lock.
I'd gotten a call from the apartment house manager yesterday saying that people were having trouble with the garage door lock and, if I were to have problems, to call him and he'd come down, open the door and give me an electronic garage door opener to use instead of a key. Which I did and he did. The selfie in the lobby and then upstairs to start on this. Still sunny, still in a good mood, still reasonably clear headed, life is good.
Later. Down to the dregs at the moment on stuff to watch on the tablet, but continued with a couple of series anyway, getting up to at least listen to the PBS news programs that start at two while futzing here at the computer, noticing a pigeon who'd landed on the balcony railing, getting ready to fly up to the hole in the the bottom of the balcony above where it's building a nest. Not the greatest shots, the balcony door glass and screen weirding up the focus and light, but at least an attempt, a start. Opened the glass door and screen (letting all the flying bugs inside) and later a second pigeon landed, getting a clearer shot with better camera settings.
Finished the second season of Bancroft that Britbox lists as having been made in 2020 and it was clear in watching it that I'd seen it before, but certainly before 2020 as my memory was very hazy as to the when and where. I mean 2020 is only five months old, yet in doing a web search the first season is listed as having been released in 2017 and the second in 2020. My memory is obviously more miserable in some areas than I know or want to admit.
Evening. Watched the first few minutes of Vera, thinking I'm sure I'll have seen it before, realized after three or four minutes I had indeed seen it before and so said the hell with it and went to bed to do the usual listen to the BBC News on the radio at nine, the six minute KQED news ten and then turning out the lights on automatic pilot.
