Won't

Wednesday. Lights out by ten to awaken at five-thirty. Maybe lights out well before ten, but either way, awakening earlier than I'd like. Listened to KPFA for a while before stirring and getting ready to walk to breakfast, being surprised to find it had been raining last night when I opened the apartment house front door. Not all that hard, not a lot of rain from the look of it, but enough to make the streets wet and the cars beaded with water drops. No rain while walking, the eyes watering, but nothing over the top.

Had the two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast. Still up a pound or so, but we're out of the more outrageous things I'd bought at the supermarket and cutting back a bit on the eating in the afternoons from here on out shouldn't be all that difficult. It hasn't been in these past years.

Still lots of low lying clouds on the walk home, the sidewalks pretty much empty. Took the usual pictures to arrive home at nine, a haircut scheduled for eleven-fifteen this morning and some thought of getting the Protime blood thinner test that's due now at the lab afterward. We'll see how that goes and whether it's raining or I'm not in the mood when the haircut has been taken care of.

Later. A bus straight downtown arriving before eleven, a cup of coffee inside at the Fountain café to get out of the cold, the haircut at eleven-fifteen right on the dot, finishing with fifteen minutes before the next bus was to arrive. The lab is closed during the noon hour and so take a bus to the lab and then wait for close to an hour before it opens? No. A walk to Grand to eat up the fifteen minute wait, a bus home to lie down and continue with the Korean series on the tablet. Every Korean film or series is a clouded look into a culture I learned a little bit about from the year I was stationed there in the late sixties.

Oh, and I did bring the camera along in the backpack, but managed to leave it inside and not take a single picture.

Is that success?

That's the habit/rut/routine dictating our behavior.

Evening. I seem to need to have something on to fill the hours whether it be news programs (preferred), television shows, tablet programs and so filled the hours today with more of that Korean series on the tablet, watched Doc Martin and then Midsomer Murders into the evening.

There was a time when music filled this need, KSAN in the early 70's and my own LP record collection, they certainly better than the noise created by the television, tablet and such that fills these later days. Still, not overly fuzzy headed and feeling pretty much OK on what's been this better than good day in May. Hey. Go figure. I don't, can't won't.
