Here In Oakland

Art & Life

May 2, 2015

Tomorrow

Saturday. I'm not sure how the night went as I turned the lights out by ten and got to sleep not right away, but within reason. Then I awoke around three, couldn't sleep, got up and futzed with yesterday's entry for some fifteen minutes to go back to bed to awaken with the alarm. Up and out the door to breakfast, no problem there, and back still feeling pretty good. Just like that.

To take a nap. We did get in an hour's sleep, which is nice. Still have the aching area of the back that doesn't seem to be getting any better. Feels like a pulled muscle but I'm finding, as these years roll along, I'm on guard it could be something more exotic. How do you screw your back up like this in your sleep?

Later. Finished the May Day demonstration photographs and posted them to HereInOakland and artandlife. One or two good ones, the rest OK. I was a little higher on them yesterday, probably because I seem to have gotten better pictures this time using the 24-70mm lens. Still shot more favored photographs with the 70-200, but maybe I've finally stumbled upon something more in how to use the 24-70mm in closer. Which would be nice if that were so.

Maybe it's just because you were shooting in the middle of a supportive crowd where nobody was upset to see you (and a dozen other photographers) in close taking photos.

I suspect.

Evening. The various PBS stations seem to be raising money again, so nothing on T.V. I might want to watch and so to bed early to curl up with the tablet. The pulled muscle in the back is still hurting, doesn't seem to be getting any better, so that continues as an issue. Let's see how it holds together tomorrow.

The photo up top was taken at the San Francisco How Weird Street Faire with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
