Week Ahead

Sunday. Delicate, getting comfortable enough to get to sleep with this pulled back muscle or whatever it is, but another night to awaken at three in the morning and get up and futz with yesterday's entry before going back to sleep at four. And then wide awake at six, well before the usual time. Ah, well.

Feel pretty good, although, in throwing my morning routine out of sequence, I managed to forget to take the daily meds as I was setting out, remembering them as I was driving back. OK, no big deal, doesn't hurt to take them a couple of hours later than the usual time, but another memory glitch. You get off in your own little cloud thinking about this or that, some other task, and things just slip past.

Otherwise a nap now, I think. Not tired, but that may well change when I lie down. Overcast out there, they're saying it will clear in the afternoon, just fog and such, so we'll see if we can sleep,. I've read it's the norm, particularly in earlier centuries when people went to bed when it became dark and arose with he sun, that they'd awaken in the middle of the night for about an hour. How couples had so many kids back when, needing something to do for that hour while lying in bed. So we'll say we're back to a more normal rhythm, this awakening for an hour in the middle of the night.

Even you don't believe that.

It evidently all changed with the invention of the electric light and the nine to five job now necessary to pay the rent.

Later. Ah, still the painful pulled muscle, but I think it's finally getting better after a nice two hour nap. No cheating on Mr. Sleep, he'll sneak back and get his desserts. Which, believe me, is not a complaint. Still weirded out a bit with this “pulled muscle” though. Still have no idea how you manage to do that while you're asleep.

The sun is out, it's now just after twelve. I'm up, as mentioned, but won't have any clue as to what I might do until the next paragraph.

Later still. Ah, the back is even better. Much better. Whatever it was seems to be healing. This makes for a good afternoon, whether I take a walk or stay in bed. Things are looking up.

Evening. Nothing on television again and so to bed early to spend the usual time watching whatever on the tablet. The big difference is the back. I was able to get up off the bed or out of a chair without pain, the back now back to being a back, even better than it was when I said I was happy with it late this afternoon. I now think there's no way there won't be a good week ahead.

The photo up top was taken at the San Francisco How Weird Street Faire with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
