Deal
Monday. It did seem to take forever to get to sleep last night, but still awoke at six-fifteen feeling just fine, not tired and none of the aching shoulders and chest from sleeping uncomfortably on my side. Listened to Democracy Now! and the news that followed at seven to get up and walk to breakfast on a sunny with the clouds breaking up morning, feeling chipper and not the least bit tired. Enough of a difference to be pleasantly surprised.
Took a picture of a boarded up store front (worried about protests in this area?) and then came up on a liquor store that clearly had been vandalized last night followed on by a jewelry store that had been similarly robbed. The same liquor store had been broken into some months back and now it's been looted again, this the first time (I think) for the jewelry shop. Robberies under the cover of protests going on throughout the area far from the crowds?
Arrived to enter the closed off dining area, turn on the lights and settle in with the papers that were all reporting the various cities where protests had occurred.
The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee after seeing the number displayed on the scale this morning, finishing up (and oddly forgetting to take the usual table top picture) to set out, to take the series of flower pictures and another snapshot of the liquor store on the way home.
All this feeling fine, bright eyed and bushy-tailed is to the good, but the thing that surprised me was the fact the nose hadn't been running. Any change in temperature - eating food, going inside or outside - has caused my nose of run (more like a slight “leak” than a messy run) now for years and I've always assumed it has to do with the damage that caused this ongoing sinus-upper palate thing. But it's been clear now since I got up this morning.
More pictures, of course, under the bright sun, the temperature nice, a couple of bicyclists heading out from the 580 Overpass light, a single scooter by the lake, arriving at the apartment to take the selfie and settle in here with this.
Later. Took an hour's nap, the nose still behaving. Cross our fingers.
The workmen installed bracing on my balcony. Not sure what's next, but they were finished by early afternoon and so a couple of pictures through the balcony door and one from the street outside.
Watched the news starting at two, watched another episode of a British series on the tablet at four and thus has gone the afternoon.
Evening. Seventy-one degrees today, they're saying a high of eighty-six tomorrow. A little warm for this old man.
Still no runny nose. None at all. This is a big deal.
