Such Is Life
Thursday. Up at seven to take a bath, pack, drop by the free breakfast area and then check out of the motel. Not cheap, but what the hell. I say that having checked into another motel now in Coos Bay, Oregon, another (given my prior experience) not cheap motel. Or am I forgetting my last trip up the coast? Maybe, but I suspect not.

I brought the laptop and the old internal boot drive, now attached as an external drive, but left the two much larger external drives I've added over the last, what, year? Since I last took it out on the road?

I was wondering why I wasn't able to find the old Photoshop 5 installation, as I'd left it on my main computer when I installed it there, but then realized, when I couldn't find the little Smart FTP program that I've used on this laptop forever, that it and Photoshop and who knows what was loaded on those external drives and I'm sitting here in Oregon having been blown out of the water.

You sure about that?

No, doesn't make sense, programs are loaded on the boot drive. Mine are, anyway, but no sign of the FTP program (completely inexplicable) and now the earlier Photoshop. Which means I can't post to the web. Which is why I'm missing. Which is why I'm thinking I'm getting maybe too spacey to be driving up the coast without a minder anymore.

Well, the driving has gone well. I pulled over a couple of times to take pictures, but I'm obviously not into it. I managed a picture or three of two deer I spotted feeding along the shore, a mother and a fawn, but otherwise, even though I pulled over a number of times, my head and my heart weren't in it. And, of course, not having Photoshop, I can't post them until I reach my sister's.

Such is life?

Such is life.

The photo up top was taken at the Obama Fox theater fund raising demonstration Monday with a Nikon D4 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 Nikkor VR II lens.
