Extra Hour

Thursday. I did get to bed early last night and I did watch something on the tablet, but not for very long before turning out the light and spending a long night intermittently counting hours, half-awake, half-asleep, only to then get up twenty minutes early because, at five-thirty in the morning, I was wide awake. And I continue to be wide awake now that I've returned from breakfast. Which means I'm going to crash big time pretty soon, right? You think?

A clear sunny morning, by the way. Thursday. If I continue to remain wide awake. No unruly sinuses, none of the other stuff. Perplexing. We'll leave it at that.

Later. Interesting, this memory thing. I've been fairly religious in watching Elementary on Thursday nights or, lately, the day after on the computer when they post it to the web, but realized, as today was Thursday, that I'd totally forgotten to watch it last week. Never crossed my mind this entire week. So I watched last week's episode just now on the computer. No, I have no idea why I'm attracted to it, would probably be embarrassed to have to defend it, but still. Totally forget for an entire week?

Still wide awake and so a walk over to the construction site to take today's set of pictures. They've started framing the third floor with another two floors yet to be added. Again, a larger building from the feel of it than I was originally thinking. Back to go through the photographs and then think about another attempt at a nap. Still going right along here but, I suspect, just suspect, were I to lie down the brain would crash. Couldn't hurt to give it a shot.

Later still. I did lie down, but no further along than the earlier floating in a bowl of warm soup attempt: half awake, half asleep. And so up to head out the door to the 7-11 look-alike for an ice cream bar. And that's our adventure for the day. That and another attempt at a nap when I got back. Not bad, feel better, no complaints.

Evening. There's a new Elementary episode later at ten. I have a hunch I'll stay up and watch it if there's something playing between now and then to keep my interest. We'll know soon enough.

Ah, an Inspector Lewis I've seen before and probably don't need to see again. We'll mull this over. There are people around the world fleeing starvation, hostile armies, earthquakes and storms and I'm sitting here debating whether or not to stay up an extra hour.

The photo up top was taken at the March For Real Climate Leadership with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
