December 13, 2015

Started

Sunday. I did manage lights out by ten, but then awoke three times during the night to get up and take a leak, finally awakening for good at six-thirty, a decent time, but still, three times? Feel OK, not tired, so a drive to breakfast. It had obviously been raining last night and there was a very light rain not requiring but an occasional sweep of the wipers on the way to breakfast, a good hard rain needing the wiper blades on high returning home. So rain. This is good.

I bitched briefly about the link to a photograph of the Sears building back in the Friday entry that was bringing up a blank screen on the web. Still does. I finally, on a hunch, looked at it with the Chrome browser on the laptop to see if it would similarly fail and it didn't. Came right up. Same with Chrome on the tablet. Displayed just fine. Tried Internet Explorer on the main computer where Chrome was failing and it displayed properly too. Which is as reasonably weird. A first. We'll think about it later, see if something occurs to me to try.

Rain through the morning, certainly, maybe it will stop later. Otherwise we're stuck here inside to sit with our “to do” list. Usually that's about as far as we get. Sitting with it, not picking it up, not attempting any of its tasks, just, you know, sitting. With all this rain maybe we'll find a way to break the curse.

Good luck with that.

We might.

Later. Tired, certainly, lying down now and again to zone out without being able to sleep. Nice, though, zoning out. Some sun there for a while, albeit cold, a walk to the 7-11 look-alike for an ice cream bar. You'd think ice cream wouldn't be on the list if it's cold, but it's always been. I recall reading something once saying ice cream had lots of calories and calories are good for the cold, but I've always suspected that's B.S.. I just like ice cream, one would guess.

Evening. I does get dark early, does it not? Which you'd expect approaching the winter equinox, but it's always surprised me, year after year.

It's dark.

It is indeed dark. An old episode of Elementary, a repeat, on channel 36 at six. I've seen it before, but watched it most of the time and listened to it taking breaks here on the computer. Thus the evening has started.

The photo up top was taken at a Ferguson Support March at Frank Ogawa Plaza this day last year with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
