That

Monday The local weather people had been saying yesterday that we might get an almost exact repeat of the lightening and thunder this morning, but awakening at six-thirty, the bedroom windows and the balcony door wide open all night to let in the cooler air, the sky was clearing with no rain in sight. So good.

Up to drive first to the Lakeshore ATM and snap another picture of the Black Lives Matter memorial at Mandana before heading on to the restaurant to park and find the patio tables just being set up, but mine in place. OK, the sun now shining through the clouds, settled in to start on the papers.

The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for no particular reason. A lighter breakfast. I'd been thinking I'd drive by the Wallgreens pharmacy on the way home to get a flu shot, but finishing up and taking the usual picture on the way to the car, realized (or knew full well) I was going to drive straight home, take the selfie and get on here with the journal. Which is what I did, closing the windows I'd left open all night, happy to feel the indoor air was cooler than it's been these last few days, but still complaining about the temperature.

Later. A decent temperature here inside the apartment to the point there were times and places I didn't need to be in front of the fan. Which is good. My sister is in a similar condition outside of Portland as, being inland from the ocean, she's seeing even higher temperatures these last many days.

Haven't gone anywhere or done much. Need to do the laundry and get the flu shot, but wasn't able to get my ass downstairs and out the door or into the car. No surprises there.

Started watching the Democratic convention at five on PBS.

Evening. Stopped watching the convention at six-thirty and headed for the bedroom and the tablet. Returned to check out Father Brown to find it unwatchable and so back to bed well before ten. The day hasn't been as hot as it was these last few days and I'm appreciative of that.

The photo up top was taken at the 2017 San Francisco LGBT Pride Parade with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
