Eleven

Sunday To sleep around eleven to awaken then just before six to listen to Counterspin at six followed by TUC Radio at six-thirty, with lightening flashes followed by thunder detonations in the distance through the bedroom windows. They'd been forecasting thunder showers for this morning, but south of here. South of here evidently moved north. Interesting to see the flashes and then hear the associated thunder while lying on the bed with the windows and curtains wide open to let the cooler air in.

Up finally at the usual time to get ready to drive to breakfast, noticing for the first time there were water streaks on the bedroom windows and then seeing that the streets and parked cars were wet. It had been raining earlier and now it was starting up again.

A light rain, the windshield wipers set to intermittent, arriving at the usual time to find my patio table had been set up as it always is below the restaurant awning and so enabling me to have breakfast without getting wet. More thunder and brief rain showers as I was eating, but comfortable and dry where I was sitting, although I could have used a little more light.

The two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee because why not, finishing up well after nine to head for the car, drive home, take a selfie that made me look as if I was returning from a three day bender to settle in here at the computer after opening all the windows to let the cool air in before the sun came out later and we headed for more eighty degree temperatures. Fan feels nice bringing in cooler air from the balcony.

Later. Still too warm inside, the mid-seventies at eleven in the morning, they're still saying mid-eighties later. Watched the golf tournament through its end and walked up to the construction site just up the way to see how they were doing and take pictures. More progress so we'll keep checking if only to say we got outside for five or ten minutes.

Evening. Stayed up to watch Endeavour at nine and so didn't get to bed until ten-thirty with sleep finally coming well after eleven.

The photo up top was taken at the 2017 San Francisco LGBT Pride Parade with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
