Sleep
Friday Sort of awoke at five again, the hour speeding by in a cloud to awaken for real and listen to the KPFA five minute news before Democracy Now! started at six. Another morning without the chest soreness or, at least, not enough to matter. Cross fingers again, hope it continues.
Didn't want to walk and so drove to breakfast to arrive at the usual time and settle in at the table on an overcast, but not particularly cool morning, the weather people saying we're going to hit into the low nineties later and then well into the eighties through and beyond the weekend.
The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, the weight a pound over the one-fifty pound target. Finished up by a quarter after nine to drive straight home, take the selfie and fiddle with yesterday's entry before posting and starting here.
Later. Ninety-eight degrees this afternoon in my neighborhood near the lake, just over a hundred in other parts of Oakland. Haven't felt it all that much here inside. Been using the fan, but I'd closed the windows this morning after keeping them open through the night. They're still saying more on the way through the middle of the week.
And you've been?
Lying on the bed watching stuff on the tablet.
Evening. Ninety-one degrees at seven this evening. Good to have the fan. Learned listening to the radio that P.G.&E. has been shutting down power to blocks of customers in the area for an hour at a time in order to meet overall demand. So far we've been spared.
Checked out Inspector Morse at eight, watched it for maybe fifteen minutes before bailing and going to bed to continue to listen to loud music coming up from the lake until eleven when it stopped. Wonder what that was about. Loud music and the occasional very large firework exploding now and again is very much louder when your bedroom windows are wide open for the cooler air. More than loud enough to make it hard to get to sleep.
