After Ten

Thursday. Lights out again well before ten, awakening for about twenty minutes at four, awakening for good at close to seven. So a long enough night's rest, some thought to driving, but finding a way to leave the car keys on the dresser top and walking to breakfast (as well I should). A photo when passing Grand Fare Market, if only because the lighting was right, some out of focus photographs of the pandorea flowers on the way back. What's with the crappy pandorea photographs? My fault. We'll buckle down tomorrow. He said.

Another clear morning, another sunny day ahead. They're saying sunny and warm well through the weekend, with some chance of rain later next week. Better than it's been, but we're still waiting on fall/winter to arrive. Fingers crossed.

You haven't been crossing your fingers at all.

Well, we've watched our water usage, but you're right. No real stress here yet, for this retiree in Oakland, over the drought. Maybe we'll dodge the bullet with this El Niño in place, maybe we won't.

Later. Noon. Feel good, clear headed and the rest, feel like getting outside (or something), but have no desire to go anywhere I can think of at the moment. Not unusual, unfortunately, but something will change later and we'll at least go out somewhere for lunch. Unless we don't. Sitting here somewhat frustrated, in other words.

Later still. A walk over to the lake to get outside, the sky clear, the sun shining, but the temperature comfortable. Good for us. Sat for a while by the white column pergola before finally getting up and then, on a last minute whim, walking on to the café by the apartment house construction site where I had an apple pastry and coffee. Home then, having at least gotten outside, the attitude better to then start work on two more sections for the apartment house web sites.

In other words: comfortably in your rut routine.

Well, yes, but stress comfortably, the day now “comfortably” delivering us into evening.

Evening. Finished two more sections and posted them to the web sites, working on them through the rest of the afternoon and into the evening, skipped the Charlie Rose interview on today's Benghazi hearings, we've heard and read enough about that, watched some stuff on the tablet and turned the lights and radio off at six minutes after ten.

The photo up top was taken walking home from breakfast this morning with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 85mm f 1.4 G Nikkor lens.
