Good Reason

Tuesday. A night, last night, similar to the night before it, except I drifted in and out of sleep without getting up, after lights out at ten and awakening finally at quarter to six. Good? Bad? We'll know soon enough.

The plain waffle with sliced strawberries and bananas, the fruit cup and coffee for breakfast on another overcast morning. Overcast on the walk back to hustle through an edit of yesterday's entry and post it before driving to the doctor's office and the annual physical.

I was worried that the car battery might be close to needing another charge (been a while since I've done it) and I'd end up without the car with too little time then to take a bus or walk to the appointment, but it started just fine. Arrived in good time after hunting for a parking space longer than I'd anticipated.

And so various blood tests to get along with the Protime test next week and that's about it for another year. Interesting set of questions and memory tests as a part of the exam. I guess we've reached an age when they are now part of the examination. Draw a clock face with hands pointing to a specific time, remember three words given to you at the start and repeat them at the examination end. Hmm.

Still overcast at eleven when I got home, a prescription to pick up over on Lakeshore, so stuff to do. At least we're done with the doctor for another year. Unless.

Later. Laid down on the bed and closed my eyes for close to an hour, felt better for it. No complaints, a pretty good day as these days go. I'd say. We'll put off picking up the prescription until tomorrow.

Finished the HereInOakland and artandlife Hold Hands Around Lake Merritt sections and posted them to the web sites. Not great, but worth the effort. I'm afraid I've now got so much stuff packed up there they'll never get another look and, this being the case, in a more perfect world, their owner would redesign them and cull the less wonderful photographs. In another reality, in another life.

Evening. Watched Democracy Now and went to bed. Got up to check out Charlie Rose, but decided I'd heard enough about Mr. Trump's selection of cabinet posts and advisors. Tired today for no good reason.

The photo up top was taken of high school students protesting the Trump election yesterday at the Lake Merritt white column pergola with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
