A birthday lunch in Oakland

November 3rd, 2003

Really
A couple of things. I mentioned we were all going to San Francisco on Halloween to take (drink) the waters. They chickened out and decided not to go to San Francisco on Halloween (to take the waters), but to scoot over to Harrington's on Thursday while I was at class in sunny San Mateo. So much for Halloween in San Francisco. Second, I said I was going to order the manual 105mm f 1.8 lens to shoot said expedition. Well, I didn't. I'm thinking of ordering it tomorrow. Really. (No, really.) And, although I didn't post yesterday, yesterday was a very good day, head clear, doing many needed loads of laundry in the morning without noticeable complaint. It is a weird but good day when I can say (with enthusiasm) that I did the laundry.

Today, a good start, a birthday lunch for MRH at Everett and Jones, a plastic but reasonably good ribs place down near Jack London Square. I had the lunch salad with barbecue chicken. I get a gold star for having a salad in a ribs place, that or a certificate showing I'm certifiable. I did order a side of the excellent potato salad. They make it with a small amount of vinegar (just like mom and grandma made it!) and it was good. Really.

A recent birthday lunch in Oakland, taken with the F3 and the 50mm f 1.2 Nikon (Nikkor) lens.
