Should Be

Saturday. Lights out at ten to awaken ten minutes before six in what seems to have been a reasonably good night's sleep. No grumpy thoughts, at least, the various body parts working as they should. Sunlight, clear skies, and so a walk to breakfast, the East Bay Times not having arrived again when I set out at six-thirty, but fine, we'll read it when we return home. Life will not end. Well, it will, but when it does I doubt the East Bay Times will be on my mind.

The asphalt machine was still sitting at the curb across from the Grand Lake Farmers Market and so - what else? - a picture and then on to find two Black-crowned Night Herons on Grand just beyond the theater. I've seen them there in the past and wondered if they were attracted to this spot due to some element in the season or the weather. Weird birds, weird by human terms.

Had the avocado with cheese omelet with the usual country potatoes, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast. Not sure why, just wanted something I hadn't had in a while. The cheese is considered problematic for ocular migraines, but I was in the mood to say what the hell, as it seems most everything else is on the list as well.

A Taiwanese American Cultural Festival later in Union Square today. Not sure I like the idea of going to Union Square with all the construction that's been going on, but we'll see. Easy enough to get there once I'm out the door, the problem is getting myself out the door (as some may have noticed).

No chance you'll go there today.

Wouldn't surprise me, I'm afraid.

Later. A walk to the lake and then on to the ATM on Lakeshore, stopping at the ice cream shop on the way home to have two scoops in the waffle cup (or whatever they're called). Home then to pretty much watch television. And yes, no thought whatsoever about heading over to San Francisco and the Taiwanese Festival.

Evening. Television and tablet for the evening, writing this the next morning before posting. Lights out by ten, but awakening at three to find myself listening to the radio for maybe fifteen minutes when I couldn't get back to sleep. Have no idea why this should be.

The photo up top was taken at the How Weird Street Faire in San Francisco with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
