Good

Thursday. Awoke again at six-fifteen to go through the usual up and out of bed routine. The weather people had forecast rain for this morning, but the sky seemed clear without any signs it had been raining last night, but I drove the car to breakfast anyway, exercise be damned. Did note the sound of a helicopter overhead, though, over the lake and toward the downtown, the thought coming immediately it was either a news helicopter looking at traffic or a police helicopter looking for someone on the run.

The waitress at the morning restaurant mentioned she'd heard the helicopter as well and had wondered the same things, but then returned later to the table to say a she'd read a woman had been heard screaming earlier and they'd now discovered two bodies, a man and a woman in the lake.

Had the plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, still no sign of rain and so the two usual pictures when heading to the car. I have at least one delivery due today and need to move my car later this afternoon at four so they can fix an overhead fluorescent fixture in my parking slot, but that's it for exciting stuff ahead on this Ides of March.

Later. Rain on and off now in the late morning and into the early afternoon. The two bodies that were pulled from lake were located on the shore opposite mine, something that has a certain at least psychological relief. Still no idea what happened, whether they had a fight or were attacked or what, but we'll know soon enough.

Otherwise mopped the kitchen floor, something that's been needed from the look of it for, well, a long time. Not tired, might as well make use of the energy, something to feel good about when looking back at when the day has gone. Turns out the contents of the package due today was sent from two different locations and so one has arrived and the other is still on its way at six. Not unusual, I'm afraid.

Evening. I discovered the delivery people had left the second package outside the apartment house front door around eight when I checked whether it had been delivered or not on the web. The delivery people hadn't buzzed the apartment and I've learned over time to check their web sites to see if they've arrived.

To bed early again, lights out not long after nine, to awaken at midnight, the sinus-upper palate aching to the point I got up and took a strong dose of the pain meds. Not good.

Sunday along Lake Merritt taken with a Nikon D500 mounted with a 135mm f 1.2 DC Nikkor lens.
