I Was Having Fun

Tuesday. Another sunny day, hey. Nice. I have some things arriving from B&H today via UPS, so I suspect I'll be staying inside until they arrive. Best to spend the time practicing on the guitar, I think. Nail down those things I'm expected to be able to play come my lesson tomorrow. We're getting there, but we're getting there kicking and screaming.

I think you're exaggerating.

If I didn't exaggerate, nothing would be interesting enough to make a comment upon, let me tell you. Double vision? Well, that has a certain interest for me, certainly. Ocular migraines? Maybe they come with the territory, something I admit I wasn't expecting. Other than those, what's been happening around here worth conveying? And I do scribble on. Every day. Without particularly thinking about it one way or another. Every day? This? What?

Have we gotten it out of our system?

We've gotten the engine going! Successfully started in the morning before nine! In a new month (my birth month), heading toward spring! (Hup! Hup!)

Now have we gotten it out of our system?

We feel released. Guitar now, I think.

Later. UPS arrived before noon, so good, another long session scanning old black and white negatives and running them through Photoshop. Which is also good, I seem to be enjoying myself. I'll have them done in another week, which really means, as I'll undoubtedly go totally overboard starting later this afternoon, another three or four days. Get that artandlife section done.

There's more than enough stacked up behind this project once I've finishing these old negatives up, all of which I've already started (some now years ago) and have become an expert in putting them off, but again, something seems to have snapped inside and much now seemingly can be done. I may even calibrate this monitor I'm sitting in front of at the moment, calibrate the printer and the cameras. These are things you need to do if you're going to be serious about taking photographs and I have, from time to time, actually done and stayed on top of them. Now I'm thinking of getting up to speed again. A miniscule amount of extra effort, a maximum amount of psychic movement to the better, not to mention the better pictures.

Back now from lunch down at the morning café. I'm to the point there's very little out there I like to eat anymore. The sushi, yes - small amounts of stuff that tastes pretty good - but not something I can afford to be eating more often than now and again. That's what I tell myself anyway, and the budget definitely backs me up. But what else is new in the world? One day, should I find I need to start hocking the camera equipment to eat, I'll remind myself of this. What were you thinking, my man? Wasn't thinking at all, sir, but I was having fun.

The photograph was taken at the Wisconsin public union support rally in San Francisco with a Nikon D3s mounted with a 70 - 200mm f 2.8 Nikkor VR II lens.
