This One

Sunday. Lights out before ten to awaken then at five forty-five and take my time getting up and getting ready to drive to breakfast, leaving just after six-thirty, but with the East Bay Times in hand this time. Bright sun, arriving around twenty minutes to seven to find no one had yet arrived to open the restaurant (sometimes a problem on Sundays) and so waiting, taking pictures of the change in gas prices and a sidewalk picture to fiddle away the time.

Hungry, had the corned beef hash breakfast and ate every bit. Finished and on the way home by nine to look at yesterday's entry, do some editing and post. So far, so good. The Temescal Street Fair today and so we'll get ready to head out.

Later. Bright sun, but a cool to cold breeze and so a sweater over a long sleeved shirt under a light jacket. Still a little cold waiting on the bus, but warm enough then for the hour at the fair before I turned around and headed home. An hour is not enough time to put together a decent web section and, for whatever reason, when I noticed I was near the stop when the bus was due and that I could catch it if I wanted in but a minute. I decided to give up and catch it in a minute.

Stopped on the way home at the morning café and had lunch at what was then two in the afternoon. Hungry, unusually so after this morning's unusually large breakfast. A cheese burger, potato salad and coffee. Tasted good. A bus then home to download and start working on the photographs, the too few photographs.

And you're complaining?

I'm wondering why I didn't stay longer. I did take one or two pictures of interest (to me, anyway) and I could have found more if I'd continued. Didn't feel all that tired or wobbly or anything, just got on the bus and went to lunch and then home. Maybe a little talk with self is in order later.

Evening. Watched the two Elementary episodes they run starting at five on Sundays, sort of remembered them. Nothing otherwise I wanted to watch on television and so to bed. I could put together a section for the web, but too many of the photographs wouldn't cut the mustard so we'll not give in and do it anyway. Not with this one.

The photo up top was taken at the 2013 San Francisco Carnaval Parade with a Nikon D4 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
