The Day Is Fine
An upper and lower colonoscopy yesterday: "come back for another one in ten years". Good. I hope I'm around in ten years.

I had a number of these during the fifteen year period I had an internal bleeding problem (they never did figure out what or where it was) but one day five years ago it just stopped. So I know how they go: lie down on the gurney, get a nice IV drip, watch the image of my insides roll by on a television screen in a half conscious state, vaguely recall the ride back to the recovery room, get dressed, go home, take a nap.

I admit the drive back from Palo Alto was uncomfortable. They pump air into your system to make it easier to look around and perhaps having an upper and a lower at the same time made the difference. I don't remember any discomfort in the past. Watched Chocolat on DVD in bed after the nap, walked down Grand Lake to the new Chinese restaurant and had their combination fried rice. Nothing special, but it was my first meal in two days. Felt better. Got to sleep early, I did, woke up early and I've had a clear headed, good energy day. The first one in a long time. Beyond that, my head is empty, the sun is shining, the day is fine.

The banner photograph was taken at the San Francisco Carnaval Parade with a Nikon F5 mounted with a 70 - 200mm f 2.8 Nikkor lens on TMax-400 and the contrast is crap.
