Bed

Thursday. To sleep at the usual time to awaken again at about a quarter after six. I'd rather awaken just before six to catch the beginning of Democracy Now!, but happy to have what I'm assuming was a good night's rest. For some reason I didn't take the blood pressure until after I'd stepped on the scale in the kitchen and taken the meds, to include the blood pressure med, thinking last night's reading of 127/83 at nine-thirty indicated it would be alright. Thinking about the decision I was worrying a bit as I then took a reading of 108/70. I would have skipped the med if I'd known that.

Ah, well. Off to drive to breakfast, arriving at the usual time to enter the closed off dining area, turn on the lights and settle in with the papers. No other diners showed up to share the dining area this morning, happy to see that.

The two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast because I couldn't think of anything else, finishing up at a quarter after nine to snap a picture of the succulent outside the restaurant and head for the car, driving straight home, take the selfie feeling tired. Took the blood pressure: 115/58. How long does it take for the blood pressure med to kick in? 115/58 is just fine, tired or not.

Finished off yesterday's entry, posted the thing and then decided to lie down for a while. Another reading at ten-thirty: 112/65.

Later. Felt crappy through most of the afternoon. Can't blame it on the blood pressure as it's been on target, so spent an hour or two watching stuff on the tablet, half heartedly listened to the usual news programs and attempted a nap. Didn't get to sleep, although I managed over an hour's rest.

Received a jury summons in the mail for July 27th, the usual check in with them after 5 p.m. on Friday the 24th beforehand to see if your group has been called. I really really don't want to be called during this coronavirus mess as, I suspect, will most others my age and so I'd best put in for a deferral (along with everyone else).

Evening. Watched about an hour of Vera, but bailed when they went into another donate to KQED break. It was going well enough, for some reason I was having less difficulty making out the dialogue through their accents, but the idea of wading through a second donate to the station routine this evening sent me straight to bed.

The photo up top was taken at the 2016 San Francisco LGBT Pride Parade with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
