Here

Sunday. To bed well before ten, head still clear after a pretty good day, I'd say. If I'm remembering correctly. A decent night's sleep though, none of the seemingly taking forever to get to sleep of these recent days, awakening this morning at fifteen minutes to six. Fine. A little too early, but took my time getting up and getting ready to drive to breakfast just after six-thirty, all three papers in tow.

Overcast and cool, the café not yet open when I arrived, so a short walk down the way to take a look at the bicycle rack noting a number of the bike slots were empty and so confirming the system is in use. Not sure why I'm interested in this other than there's not much stuff going on here in my world these days and so I guess I pay attention to whatever comes along.

The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, taking my time with the papers. The usual political stuff: no new wars, at least. Washington remains in turmoil.

Home now, the sky continues to be overcast, the temperature cool. Might tempt me outside for a walk. Need to go by an ATM, need to get in more walking, need to stop blathering for now.

Later. A bus to the Broadway ATM to then walk the three short blocks back to Grand and take more pictures of the apartment house construction site ruins. Not much to show, one way or another, but it was useful in getting me out the door with a camera.

Decided to skip a return bus and walked the short distance instead to Whole Foods to buy apples and peaches. A little surprised to see what they cost, but they were indeed good, eating one of each when I got home.

The sinus-upper palate is good and I'm thinking that going back to taking the usual dose of pain meds in the mornings has been working. Need to see more days like this one before I know.

And then you'll do another one-eighty and complain they don't work anymore. Something you've done more times than I can remember.

Now, now. We've put the meds to rest. For today.

Later still. Watched television, played some guitar and took a bath. More baths lately, probably jinxing any hope we'll have rain when the season starts and bringing on a drought this coming year.

Evening. Watched the news, started watching a Death In Paradise episode I decided I didn't need to see again and so checked the other channels, discovering I'd forgotten Elementary runs on Sundays starting at five and I'd missed the first of two episodes. I may be clear-eyed and reasonably coherent, but my memory isn't keeping with the program.

And?

An episode I'd seen before and didn't need to see again. There seems to be a pattern here.
