A Habit

Saturday. I think I did get to sleep at a reasonably early hour, last night, up with the alarm this morning without undue effort and off to breakfast on another chilly clear morning. The Saturday papers a bit thin, so back home with time to spare after documenting the four cent drop in gas prices at the station across the street. No, I have no idea why it would go up eight cents one day and then drop four cents the next. We'll leave it at that. Probably has something to do with dice.

Feel good, the day starts well, we'll see what we accomplish with our little evolving New Year's resolutions list before noon. Yes, there is a list, I just haven't written it down yet. With any luck I'll put posting it off long enough to just let it dibble away and avoid any embarrassing admissions of defeat however many days hence.

I wouldn't sweat it, you're way beyond embarrassment with this thing by now.

In the meantime I had an idea on getting my guitar playing back to doing it daily. Need to do something, I'm not ready to give up.

Later. A walk at ten over by the farmers market and then on to the ATM on Lakeshore, not much wind, but it was cold compared to the kind of weather we've been having, the various levels of clothing topped by a winter jacket not quite adequate, and so a brisk no stopping mile and a half walk to keep warm. And no pictures. Not really THAT cold and so I'm a picture wuss in this kind of weather.

Other than that, watched a movie, most of a movie, and more of the various TV episodes I've been following on Netflix and Amazon. The men and women of Grey's Anatomy have gone completely around the bend in the current episode and I'm not sure I can explain watching. Could be a sign my horizons are broadening or that significant sections of what have been active areas of my brain are failing. Not sure it matters.

Still, clear skies, sun, but cold. I've been trying to talk myself into going outside again now that it's approaching four. Nothing in the way of food is calling, not alcohol or ice cream, we're still down on chocolate, but we're working on it.

Still no pictures. I'm going to have to come up with something for up top and behind the Journal head just below, maybe check what I came up with last January when I was similarly dry.

Evening. To bed early after a not long enough session with the guitar. We have yet to implement our idea(s) for improving our time with the guitar. Nothing too radical, but enough to make playing a habit, something you just slip into without thinking, but that's still on the to be implemented list. If we ever create the list.

Anyway, to bed to watch another movie on the tablet. The number of television channels I'm able to receive over the airways has dropped by a significant percent and with the public stations raising money at the moment there's little hope of evening entertainment. I started Network, a well thought of movie when it was released that started at eight, but it wasn't something I could watch. Cranky old man again, it's becoming a habit.

The photo up top was taken at the LGBT Pride Parade with a Nikon D4 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
