The Morning

Monday. Lights out by ten, a decent evening, awake some ten minutes before the alarm to get up and prepare to leave for breakfast, but then delaying for ten minutes waiting on the Times to arrive. A minor issue you'd say, but it puts the momentum off. On to breakfast on another clear going to be sunny morning, noting another two cent increase in the price of regular. Why is this both a surprise and not a surprise?

Later. A nap. A nice long nap that lasted a good hour, up (albeit slowly) to start again on yesterday's photographs, figuring I've got a section, but just barely, and only after including one or two of dubious merit. Still, a section, we'll get to it and finish before evening.

Over to the apartment house construction site to take a set of photographs. I crapped out Friday, don't want to crap out two days in a row, although their progress is slow enough it probably wouldn't matter. None of the photographs from one day to the next show all that much difference.

Or seem all that interesting.

Progress with the photography is made through practice, even when you don't think you're practicing or making progress. He said.

Rather like your time on the guitar.

Later still. Switched between watching stuff on the tablet and working on the photographs through the afternoon before posting the images to HereInOakland and artandlife. I'll go into my usual routine of I'm not sure they're worth posting - some of the candid portraits are nice and candid portraits are, after all, what seems to drive my taking all these pictures, but I'll go through the routine and then get on with it.

Evening. To bed and then to sleep early for reasons we'll discuss in the morning.

The photo up top was taken of a Lion Dance group performing on Webster Street in downtown Oakland with a Nikon D4 mounted with a 24-70mm f 2.8 G Nikkor lens.
