Before
Thursday To sleep after ten, not really sure when, to awaken then for good at six-forty, take the blood pressure (122/69) and set out walking to breakfast this morning, signs of last night's rain on the sidewalks and roads, but the sky partly cloudy and the sun coming up over the hills. Arrived to enter the dining area, turn on the lights and settle in with the papers. Needed to be home by nine-thirty as that's when the Protime lady was due to arrive and stick my finger.
The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee, finishing up by nine to set out for home, taking my time shooting the usual series of pictures with only a few out of focus due to their position, my disposition and/or the wind.
A photo of a discarded something or other on the sidewalk (not sure I want to know), of Grand closing in on Euclid and the selfie in the lobby before settling in to post yesterday's entry and start here, the Protime lady arriving in the middle of all this to take her measurement with the finger sticker this time, the number turning out to be within the proper range. Good to know.
Later. A drive to the bank to enter this time and make a withdrawal (Christmas presents). No big deal, but again hassled over ways to avoid doing it just as I've been avoiding so many other necessary tasks. I'm assuming a sign of age rather than this pandemic, although it could all just be flowing together to keep me hiding inside.
Are we feeling further down than we want to admit?
We are never sure. How's the rest of the world doing in this pandemic? Reading about it in the news every day doesn't make you feel all that secure.
Evening. Watched Vera at eight. Yes, I'd see it before, remembered parts of it better than others, but it kept me curious as to who'd done the deed all the way through to the end. The usual scheme: they go through a long string of suspects, one after another, until they spring the perpetrator on you at the very end, the standard cops versus robbers plot, but done well in Vera and so it seems to keep me coming back even when I've seen all these episodes before.
