Here In Oakland

Art & Life

December 3, 2014

Appeared

Wednesday. Not much sleep on the train, I'm afraid. Nothing like how well it went on the trip up, but still, awake and up in time for breakfast when they started serving at six-thirty, the train arriving in Oakland before nine. Twenty minutes plus to wait for a cab, the rain had jacked up demand, but no big deal and otherwise a good trip from Portland. Feel pretty good, sleep or not. None of the “fuzzy” headed crap. Yet.

Now, now.

Let's hope.

Later. A slow day getting things back on track. A walk over to the construction site to see what they'd been up to, this after they'd left for the day, a fair amount of time spent looking at and redoing photographs adjusted on the laptop. There is a difference between working with them on the laptop and working with them on a faster machine. With a proper size display.

Evening. Nothing on television. Caught up on Elementary by watching last week's episode on the computer before heading to bed reasonably early and cranking up the tablet. Tablets. No effect on one's time and habits, these tablets. What did we do before they appeared?

The photo up top was taken of reindeer sculpture at Oaks Park in Portland last weekend with a Nikon D4 mounted with a 24-70mm f/2.8 G Nikkor lens.
