Evenings

Monday. Awakening for good at six, after lights out last night at ten, to get up feeling pretty good and set out for breakfast on an overcast not overly cold, some chance of rain they're saying later in the day, but looking good for now morning. Arrived before seven to find the restaurant open. Good.

Had the plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up just after eight-thirty and heading out for home. I'd passed by this bicycle on the way in, wondering if the lack of a front wheel meant it had been stolen or if the rider had taken it with him. Hard to tell.

On by the Lakeside school to see why I first thought might be a dark cloud in the distance, only to see it was a fire somewhere in East Oakland. Hoped it wasn't another arson of an apartment house project. Home to take the selfie in the lobby and futz with yesterday's miserable entry, checking the web to find the fire was in an industrial warehouse and not at a construction site.

The Saint Stupid's Day Parade is forming up at the Embarcadero starting at noon, one reason I had the plain waffle with fruit this morning, but I was tired enough to blow it off. I'd photographed it last year as I have most of these last ten years, but I suspect I'm not going to be photographing many if any in the future. Bummer.

A nap and then another nap, drifting in and out of sleep while listening to the news. Thus has gone the afternoon.

Evening. Watched another episode in the Swedish Johan Falk series at six. Odd story line, but at least I've figured out what seems to be going on. Not as tired as I was earlier, which seems to be the cycle: tired during the days, less so to not at all during the evenings.

The photo up top was taken while walking home from breakfast this morning with a Nikon 1 V3 camera mounted with a 30-110mm f 3.8 - 5.6 Nikkor 1 lens.
