October 12, 2018

Later

Friday. Lights out at ten to awaken then just after six to get up and head out the door under clear skies, arriving at seven, the restaurant up and running. A little cold, should have worn a heavier jacket, the eyes watering a bit, but a good start and what looks to be a sunny day.

Sat visualizing the breakfast I wanted to order, but couldn't recall the name. Corn something or other. Finally got up and checked a menu. Corned beer hash. Not totally unusual, I've forgotten stuff like this before, but I'm more sensitive and react when they happen. Mostly.

Anyway, corned beef hash, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast and coffee for breakfast while reading the papers, finishing up at a quarter to nine to walk home under a bright sun, wearing the lighter jacket this time just fine. Another picture of the scooters left by students at the base of the entrance to Lakeview school.

Nothing on the schedule and I'm done with guessing what I might get up to later.

So there!

So there.

Later. Out the door in the late morning thinking I'd go to the City Center for lunch. No real desire to go to the City Center, but I wanted to get outside and see how it would go. Remembered the Friday Farmers Market was underway on 9th Street and so stayed on the bus feeling better. Haven't been to 9th Street and the market in some time, looked forward to seeing it.

Passed by a group of Marriott workers picketing the hotel at 11th Street and so took a couple of (not very good) pictures, then on to the market, had a sandwich and lemonade at a table in front of Ratto's, took a very few pictures (still a little wobbly and tired), caught the free bus to the Broadway ATM with enough time left to go by the construction sites and take more pictures. So far, so good, but no thought to walk home, waited on a bus and rode. Not a lot of walking, but out and about for a couple of hours.

Home to do little other than listen to the news, lied down for a while thinking nap (without sleeping) and that's been about it.

Evening. To bed early, but lights out later at ten, skipping the tablet. Some days you watch it, some days you don't.

And Haruki Murakami's book Killing the Commendatore you were saying you were going to read as a test? Still sitting unread on the bedside table?

Maybe talk about it tomorrow. Or later.

The photo up top was taken in 2017 at the September Defend DACA demonstration at the Oakland City Hall with Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
