Draft

Saturday. Pretty much awoke at five-thirty again after lights out before ten and what I seem to recall as a decent night's sleep. Dawdled getting up but out the door finally at six forty-five to arrive before seven and wait for three or four minutes for the first restaurant employee to arrive, the sky clear, the day cool to colder and the eyes watering. But a good start.

The two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast and coffee for breakfast, a fair number of people filtering in as it was a Saturday and to be expected. Finished the papers by eight-thirty and set out for home, passing by a vandalized bicycle sitting sitting at a stand for a while now and then by a homeless man sleeping below the Lakeview school whom I'd passed walking in, another homeless man sleeping on the sidewalk under the 580 overpass that I didn't photograph. Not much to complain about in this life when you see how these guys are having to survive.

Home then in good shape to look at yesterday's entry and fill in all the sections I should have written yesterday. My interest/ambition to write this stuff seems to evaporate in the early afternoon. Usually the very early afternoon.

A Saturday and so maybe we'll get out to the lake, at least, with a camera. Get in a decent walk.

Good luck with that.

If luck delivers, I'll happily take it.

Later. A walk over to the lake just to see if I could talk myself out the door with a camera in the backpack and taking it out when I got to the shore. Lots of people about and that seems to make me think no one's going to take a chance at taking it. I suspect I'm naive, but it seems to work.

Sat for a while at the white column pergola, took a couple of pictures and then returned to the apartment. Sunny and warm, sitting here now with the fan turned on to medium. Seems weird to have it so warm, although I'm not sure this isn't pretty much standard for the beginning of October, the memory being what it is anymore.

Evening. Interesting day. Comparatively no time spent on the tablet, the series of Law & Order episodes they run on Saturdays all episodes I haven't seen before and so watched more of them than usual. Sunny outside, warm (as mentioned), warmer inside than outside now after dark and so the bedroom window and sliding glass balcony door are open to encourage a draft.

The photo up top was taken at the 2017 Fruitvale Dia de los Muertos Festival with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens
