Auto-Focus

Sunday. To bed and lights out fairly early again, before ten at least, but awakening this morning at seven, a good hour later than the target. I'm at least assuming I got enough sleep last night.

It's Sunday and so a drive to breakfast to have the avocado with cheese (not too much cheese) omelet (one forty-nine on the scale this morning), read the Sunday papers (the East Bay Times again arriving just as I was heading out to the garage), taking the usual picture as I was leaving and now home on an overcast, not going to be overly hot (with some chance of rain) morning. Feeling reasonably clear headed and ready for the day.

You say that, then you stay squirreled up inside.

We'll see. There is a Nature Festival going on over at the lake we'll undoubtedly take a look at. It's too close by to argue my way out of it.

Later. A bus to the ATM on Broadway, the weekend schedule such that it doesn't allow you to catch a return bus right after hitting the ATM and so a walk back to the apartment. They'd been saying a chance of showers today, a forty percent chance, and indeed it started raining really hard as I turned onto Grand. Stood in the doorway of a dress shop until it passed in something like ten minutes and the sun came back.

I'd noticed I was feeling cranky, cranky in the sense I sat on the bus turning this slip into crankiness over, wondering what it was that brings it on more often now than I remember it happening in the past. The mind in short circuit? Something more esoteric? Blame it on age? Didn't show it outwardly, wasn't snippy with anyone anyway, although I got tired of waiting in line at the 7-11 look-alike to buy an ice cream bar and decided to put it back in the freezer and head on for a grilled chicken sandwich at the burger drive-in down the way.

Which I did. Stick my head in. Crowded. Decided I'd come back later when I checked out the Nature Festival being held not far behind them by the lake. If I did to go out again.

Laid down on the bed for a while, but then indeed got up and walked over to the Nature Festival being held near the bird sanctuary area to find a number of tables with people sitting behind them selling locally harvested honey and such, but without many visitors about. A couple of pictures, just to take a couple of pictures, and then back by the drive-in to stand in line until I again gave up the ghost and went home. Hmm. It's at least sunny outside. I may have mentioned that.

Ah, well. Managed to catch the end of the Raiders game, watching them pull off a last minute win in the last three minutes of play, and then catching the 49'ers opening kickoff. So maybe we'll stretch out the afternoon watching the 49'ers and call the day.

Evening. Tired To bed early. We'll clean up the typos and such tomorrow morning. And there will be typos that I've somehow missed. Always surprises me, how sloppy I've become. You'd think the first couple of paragraphs written in the mornings would be tighter, but they aren't. Easier to pass off sloppy picture taking if they're in focus.

Auto-focus?

The photo up top was taken last Sunday at the Folsom Street Fest in San Francisco with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
