On Better

Thursday. To bed and to sleep, up with the alarm feeling similarly twiggy. A slight fever? Just a hint? Dressed a little warmer for breakfast and felt queasy throughout the meal, returning home to crash for a couple of hours just in case.

In case?

Don't want no colds or cases of the flu. Had the flu shot, always do, but it's been a while since I've been sick and I'm not in any mood to have whatever this may be refresh my memory. Some things are best forgotten by avoiding any repeats.

You don't have much control one way or another, you know.

True, but I'm careful, washing the hands after being out, burning incense and sacrificing small animals at the family alter just in case.

Later. Still skating along on the edge of a fever, feeling like crap, but just, so two hours in bed with some sleep (as I seem to recall) before getting up and thinking I should probably let the head come together before heading out to take pictures at the construction site.

This took a good hour, but finally out the door (feeling better) to take the usual set of pictures. Lots of sun. Went better than I'd hoped. Brought both cameras and took a decent number this time.

Evening. I think, maybe, rather than a cold or the flu, we have an intestinal problem, the slight fever, chills and such but a byproduct and they won't develop into anything too over the top. I hope.

Anyway, the entire alimentary canal is empty. Believe me, it is. Diarrhea during the day has made this clear and we'll leave it at that.

Best to bed, we'll know tomorrow morning if the “thing” has passed or we're in for something less pleasant. I'm betting on better.

The photo up top was taken yesterday at the Oakland National Day to Stop Police Brutality with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 24-120mm f/4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
