Doesn't Count
Thursday. The BBC had a story yesterday saying Obama was going to send as many as forty-five thousand additional troops to Afghanistan, the announcement to be made next week in time for a Nato defense minister's meeting. I hope to hell he knows what he's doing. No one else has.

Back from my annual physical now at noon. Went over the various this and that's, came away with a prescription for an inhaler of some kind after he listened to the lungs. Evidently the Flonase doesn't act on the lungs, but we're continuing with it anyway. Not a lot to say out of the meeting although I wasn't expecting anything more. They were out of flu shots so I'll get one at my local pharmacy when I pick up my prescription. If they still have it in stock. Lots of H1N1 signs and information posted on the walls. Do this, don't do that, stay away if you've got it. “Stay away if you've got it?” I may have mis-remembered that.

Otherwise the day ahead. The lungs are a bit loose, but maybe that's good, showed the doctor what I was talking about, otherwise the sinus-head thing is under control, the attitude reasonable. With age and experience “reasonable” is just fine, thank you, no complaints for a mid month Thursday in October.

Later. The sky is clear, the sun is out and I'm back from the downtown after sitting around in the City Center with a camera in my lap, not a picture to show. Well, one on the way back, but it's, you know, not something to hang on a wall. A funky afternoon, the pharmacy saying they'd have my inhaler tomorrow, so I'll go downtown tomorrow and see what an inhaler is all about. As I said, a slow funky day with a nap and then another nap and then a trip downtown because I do need to get out of this place and walking to breakfast and back does not count. Doesn't count. Doesn't.
