Just Me
Sunday. OK, yesterday was a wash. Walked to breakfast and finished up after nine to walk home, but for the first time feeling really tired when I arrived. Managed to fiddle with and post the May 1st entry, but then immediately crashed on on the bed and slept for four hours straight, only half awakening at three in the afternoon.
Why so tired? Nothing out of the ordinary in the amount of sleep I'd gotten that night, but four hours? The tiredness lasted until early evening when, watching a series on the tablet, a strong ocular migraine hit and I managed to turn out the various lights and such before going right to sleep. The one positive aspect of an ocular migraine is it puts you to sleep. No messing around, you're out.
So no entry yesterday. Awoke this morning at six in time to listen to Counterspin and TUC Radio before getting up at seven-thirty to drive to the Lakeshore ATM to deposit the stimulus check that had arrived in the mail on Saturday. Wondered how that might come, if it might come at all and when. When, it turns out, was yesterday.
An easy drive to make the deposit and then drive over the hill to park in front of the morning restaurant, enter the blocked off dining area and settle in with the papers. Had the avocado and mushroom omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up well after nine to drive home, take the selfie and settle in at the computer to mess with this.
Feel pretty good, clear headed in as much as the head is ever all that clear anymore, and thankful yesterday's symptoms probably didn't mean I'd caught the virus.
As to what might have caused yesterday's messed up head I don't know. Didn't eat anything to cause an ocular migraine. Haven't had one now in some time and those have been lightweight affairs, this one was full blown. The extra four hours sleep? Not sure. All I can say is life is indeed a little different as you get older, virus pandemics aside, but at least it is life and it does go on, if limping at times.
Later. An hour's nap this time from one to two in the afternoon. Sunny skies, they're saying a high of seventy and even higher through the next ten days or so, people's voices coming in now and again from the street, but no thought to go outside. Feeling tired, nothing like yesterday, but best to stay inside.
Evening. Two pigeons just flew up into another opening on the opposite side of opening I'd noted earlier. Two more pigeons? Two nests? Be easier to set up a camera to find out. I won't do it, of course, but it's a thought.
Watched quite a bit of television after burning out on two series I'd been watching this afternoon. I'd wanted to stay up to watch the next episode of World On Fire that I'd been following on PBS at nine. Bailed after fifteen minutes and went to bed. Maybe just a crappy episode, maybe just a crappy me.
