Movie

Saturday. Lights out not long before ten to awaken like a shot at six. Bam! Eyes open, check the clock, get up, no foggy minutes getting the world to take shape. OK, doesn't happen often, doesn't seem to mean anything, other than the world came into view with a jolt.

Out the door to walk to breakfast under an overcast sky to arrive at five minutes before seven to find the mostly dark restaurant open, this not for the first time. Ordered the two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for the second time in a row and read the papers in some detail, some detail meaning they took longer to read by about fifteen minutes. Just noting.

Walked home taking the usual pictures, some in focus and some not. Why the not? The shutter was fast enough, I'd held the camera as I've held it when getting the other pictures in focus, but with this smaller camera it doesn't seem to matter. Fuzzy pictures come whenever they want.

Are you sure you're not whinging, blaming the camera on your mistakes?

Well, take more time is the only thing I can think to do and maybe take a second picture to be sure.

Or carry one of the big DSLR's.

That's been the thought, albeit disconcerting.

Later. A walk to the Lakeshore ATM and then on to the card shop across the street to pick out a birthday card and bring it home for tomorrow. Brought the camera in a backpack, but didn't take it out, something I understood would probably happen. Nice day, but avoided the farmers market and there weren't all that many people at the white column pergola and so was able to sit on one of the empty benches for a while before continuing home.

Evening. Watched the Cubs-Cardinals game in bits and pieces and not much else through the afternoon. I could hear the drummers going at it over at the lake, the sun bright, the temperature warm, but stayed inside. Ah, well.

Watched the beginning of North by Northwest that started at eight, made in 1959. Alfred Hitchcock. Liked it better in 1959. Still, Cary Grant. Been a while since I've seen a Cary Grant movie.

The San Francisco Anime & Cosplay Festival taken with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
