Morning

Tuesday. Lights out in the middle of the BBC News that starts at nine and a good straight through the night sleep that lasted until five-thirty when I awoke. Groggy yes, but awake. OK, take my time, listen to the news, get ready to head out to breakfast on an overcast somewhat cooler morning, although the eyes didn't water all that much to arrive before seven, but finding the restaurant open.

Ordered the two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast to eat and finish the papers by about eight-thirty. Skinny papers on a Tuesday, but enough to keep me reading. Set out for home, took the usual sidewalk picture, noted the A's mascot statue showing up in front of the Grand Lake theater and did the flower and Lime scooter pictures as I came upon them.

A haircut at eleven and so we need to get going. The hair stylist I've been going to now for the last decade or so is retiring and so we'll have to find another barber. The horror of it hasn't quite struck me yet.

That's not that much of an issue given what most people deal with in this life, is it not?

Just makes it all the more embarrassing to admit it.

Later. Camera into the backpack and then on a bus to the Broadway ATM to walk on to the City Center, arriving early, but my stylist ready to take me in. Finished in time to catch the bus home with two minutes to spare, the sun out after an overcast morning and now with an afternoon ahead. Nothing on the schedule until tomorrow and so we'll work at finding ways to goof off and get little or nothing done.

Do think by saying that you'll get a different outcome? Reverse psychology? Challenge the Fates? Babble?

A bit of each, truth be told.

Later still. The blood pressure was 131/71 at nine last night and so took the med as I've been doing before bed, deciding to take it early today around noon with the idea of taking it again tomorrow morning and keeping on taking it in the mornings with the rest of the meds as I've done in the past. Took the pressure again after two and found it was 136/80, this two hours after having taken it earlier. Why so high?

OK, maybe it takes some time for the thing to kick in and so we'll give it a couple of days taking it in the mornings before making any changes. (And maybe get the blood pressure meter checked for accuracy.) Whatever's been screwing it up isn't letting up and so we'll shadow it until we know. Or don't. Or whatever.

Evening. Watched maybe half the All-Star game in chunks and pieces, trying to remember who was American League and who was National League. Knew the A's and Giants, of course, and the Yankees, but otherwise I wouldn't have bet on knowing the league of any of the others. Well, I haven't been following the game and the memory isn't all that great when you I haven't been paying attention for decades. Seems a serviceable rationalization.

Ran the blood pressure again at nine, 115/74, which is about right, having taken the med at noon. Be curious to see how it holds up in the morning.
