Sleep
Thursday. I'd done some reading on shingles and the vaccination shot on the web before getting one yesterday and they had quite a bit of information on side effects, one of which was chills. Didn't think about it much, the pharmacist who gave me the shot had taken quite a bit more time than usual asking about my current condition, blood pressure, sugar balance and such, but I guess I had some head's up this particular shot was different than, say, a flu shot to which I've never had a reaction. Chills last night. Came on suddenly as I was heading for bed, a real down home wracking of the body as you're getting under the covers that lasted for some four hours before I was able to get up and take a leak without it coming back.
Awoke at five-thirty and listened to the radio for half an hour before getting up and drive to breakfast. After last night I wasn't sure how together I was going to be for a walk and so drove, arriving at ten minutes to seven to find the restaurant open, although the dining area dark. Said hello to the waitress and turned on the lights to settle in with the papers not quite sure how I was feeling, but not sure I wasn't alright. Overcast, although no one's forecasting rain.
The single pork chop, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up by eight-thirty to fumble with the camera to take the usual picture at the table before setting out as the camera for some reason wasn't allowing me to adjust aperture. Looking at it when I got home I found I'd managed to rotate a switch from aperture mode to shutter mode and my attempts to adjust the setting to increase aperture had actually been increasing shutter speed. The resulting pictures were not amusing.
Off to the car to drive home, snapping a picture of a guy on a bike at the 580 Overpass traffic light and then a selfie in the lobby before settling in at the computer and posting yesterday's entry. And so how's the head? Seems to be back, the shoulder is still a little sore from the shot, but I think a nap will take care of that.
Later. OK, other than a sore upper arm from the shot (not all that sore) the afternoon has gone well. No thought to go out and so watched this and that on the tablet and listened to the various news programs going on and on with the Impeachment Trial. After yesterday, no complaints.
Evening. Stayed up long enough to check out Vera at eight, remembered I'd seen it before, but again, had no idea who'd done what. Maybe a small advantage there in that you can watch these programs over (and over) and still wonder with every viewing how it's going to turn out. Bailed after half an hour and went to bed, listening to the BBC News at nine, as always, and then lights out, radio off and sleep.
