Bank

Thursday. To bed by nine to then drop into an uneven night's sleep, checking the clock more times than I can remember as it stumbled forward. Not sure if that's good or bad. Did I also get in the necessary period of deep sleep? Do I know what I'm talking about? REM sleep like this is a necessary part of the package, maybe this was just one I happened to remember better than others? Why not?

Still, awake at ten minutes to six, not tired, feeling pretty good and getting up without a problem. Took the full dose of pain meds for the first time in more than a week though. I'd taken a second dose yesterday in the early afternoon and it had cleared up the sinus-upper palate, the rest of the afternoon and evening more than comfortable, the aching sinus defanged, the attitude and energy quite good. We do notice these things (obsessively) and so the hell with it, we'll just go with what seems for the time being to work.

The forecast was for rain this morning, but the streets were dry under an overcast low cloud sky when I awoke and so a walk to breakfast, having the oatmeal, toast, fruit cup and coffee this time around. An interesting story in The East Bay Times about a study measuring something like twenty changes in body chemistry when it gains, in the case of this study, all of six pounds. “Bacterial populations morph. Inflammation patterns shift. The cardiac system undergoes genetic changes.” None of them it seems for the good.

The usual walk home taking the usual pictures which I continue to enjoy taking, the day starting well.

Later. Raining now and so their forecast has arrived. The day has been pretty good, good energy and attitude, the afternoon paralleling yesterday's upbeat evolution. No complaints.

Evening. Spent time on the bed with the tablet, stumbling along with Netflix and Amazon, getting up to watch an episode of Vera on PBS, a series they haven't run in a while. Not bad. Couldn't remember if I've seen this particular episode before, but I suspect I had. To bed and lights out after it ended at nine-thirty, another not bad day in the tank bank.
