I Can Live With That
The place is cleaner than it's been in a while. I didn't jump through any hoops, but I did vacuum the rugs and wrestled with some Wuss related stains that seemed to come right out with a sponge. I figured if I was going to be given notice anyway, I might as well just go with the flow. The guy comes, he's an asshole or he isn't. And he wasn't. Cool.

Turns out he's about my age, he's in town, figures I've been living in his condo for the last year and a half so the right thing to do it take a look at me and his condominium. If you're a landlord, that's what you're supposed to do. There's a landlord book somewhere and that's one of the chapters. Check out the tenant. Came in, took a quick look around the living room, didn't bother with the bedroom and bathroom or go into the kitchen, said everything was fine, so we sat down and talked for a while and he said, yes, he'd be moving back, but probably no sooner than May or June, so why don't we just plan on him giving me at least 60 days notice and take it from there when it happens? OK. End of conversation.

I can live with that.

The banner photograph was taken over Thanksgiving in Portland. A little green, isn't it. The quote is by Samuel Johnson.
