Early
Sunday. For all my getting to bed early last night, I still didn't turn the lights out until just after ten to then awaken this morning at six. Seems to have worked out OK, at least I got up and out the door to drive to breakfast without any memorable glitches, arriving four minutes before the waitresses arrived to open the restaurant. Good.
Had the corned beef hash, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast and coffee for breakfast over the papers. One or two stories I may come back to later today to finish on the web. Still a good start to a day to snap the usual two pictures before getting in the car, but heading to the supermarket before returning to the apartment. Bought a bunch of stuff, but the critical item was toilet paper as we were down to our last two rolls. One does not run out of toilet paper, ever, not even to avoid breaking our routine and driving to the store.
Now, now. You're not really a basket case quite yet. In training, maybe, but you still have a ways to go.
Later. I did pick up two of the single serving bottles of sake at the store, opening and drinking one of them at three this afternoon. How long has it been since I've had any alcohol? Been months and months. Haven't missed it, but decided for whatever reason to pick some up today at the store.
And?
Added the usual buzz, probably even more so with the long lapse since I've had one, but a buzz I didn't like all that much as it seems to have added to an addled and less than pleasant rest of the day. That second single serving bottle may sit on the shelf, if not for the rest of my existence, then for the rest of the month, more if I hide it in the back of one of the less used cupboards. A lesson relearned in this business of growing older.
Evening. To bed, still feeling some of the effects I'm blaming on the sake. Lights out early.
