Lights

Wednesday. Lights out after the BBC news recap at nine to awaken then at six-ten feeling reasonably coherent and so off to walk to breakfast under clear skies and another soon to be sunny and warm, record breaking warm, day. Hey.

The French toast with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast reading a news story comparing previous years that have started with the rain we've had at this point this year and comparing them with the written records, many of them going back to the 1850's. Maybe one in fifty, one in a hundred ended up getting any real rain to bring them back up to average and so we're screwed. We've all known that, but the numbers agree and that's not good.

A walk home seeing two pandorea vine flowers blooming for the first time this year on the trellis that separates the restaurant's outdoor tables from the sidewalk. I'm tempted to go back to prior years and see when I first noted the flowers back then. Do they tend to come earlier when we've had warm weather early like this? Just curious.

Started clearing up the contents of some storage boxes and moving them into my two filing cabinets, getting rid of old outdated crap in the cabinets to make room. A sign of better energy or ambition and we're thinking it would be a good idea to continue with the project today. Starting a mid-week Wednesday on a hopeful note? Are we?

Later. Warm. Too warm. Sitting here in a t-shirt in front of a fan after taking a bath, the weather people saying it's seventy-three degrees here in my neighborhood. I'm looking forward to the coming spring and summer if this is what we're having for winter.

You do go on.

I know. Talking about the weather. What's next? An list of what we had for breakfast?

Later still. Still feels warm at four-thirty, after watching more of the French series on the tablet after the bath. Removed the band-aid patch from the finger, having now gone through half a dozen or so since the forefinger cut. Well, slice. A smile shaped red outline, but it seems good, looks OK and doesn't hurt. All of which is good, right?

Evening. Didn't move anything more to the file cabinets and so we'll add a black mark to the board, putting it off until tomorrow. Looked at Midsomer Murders briefly before heading for the bedroom and turning out the lights.
