They're More Advanced
Wednesday. To bed later than I'd have liked last night but up with the alarm without any real effort, off to breakfast and back on a nice sunny morning. My waitress commented, as I was settling the check, that I looked a whole lot better than I have over these last few weeks, that she had indeed been worried. OK. I think that's true. Progress.

I'm hearing that others have had some recent bouts with a cold or the flu recently, so the question I now ask when these things happen (is this something to do with getting older, are we experiencing something that is now the norm?) is avoided. Youngsters have had these same symptoms. A question to be asked, although nothing you want to dwell on. Drives you crazy. Crazier. I know that. I do.

Again, a sunny day, another chance to catch up on recent projects. I now have some hope it may happen, however, something that's been lacking in the past.

Later. A nap at noon after spending the rest of the morning futzing on the web, so we're not quite beyond taking naps. Still, a walk to the morning restaurant, not stepping out as we might have liked, but a grilled Swiss sandwich, ice cream and lemonade for lunch, a bus back to the apartment because I didn't want to walk. Just half a mile, maybe ten minutes at slow stroll, but I still waited for a bus.

Evening. A decent session on guitar. Good. We're behind, but we're not hopelessly behind and the guitar mood is lightening up. Important if you one day want to play.

Another Don Matteo at six, so we skipped the Don and watched a chapter of the French Spiral series that follows at seven. This is the series I'd watched three months back and somehow missed the last episode and so I've been watching, when they restarted it, all the way through again. The episode this evening was that last one I'd seen before missing whatever came next.

Did I just space out on that first go through? Is there a last episode? Certainly watching this one tonight demands there be another. At least. Too many loose ends. Too many people double crossing too many people without resolution (of any sort). Doesn't have to be the good guys triumphing over the bad guys, I'm not sure there are any good guys in this particular series, but something that at least resolves major issues and says that's that. Unless I've just totally lost connection with the current pop culture and I'm hopelessly lost.

This is French pop culture now, you know.

It is French. Could be they're more advanced.

The photo up top was taken at the San Francisco 2010 Chinese New Year Parade with a Nikon D3s mounted with a 24-70mm f 2.8 G Nikkor lens.
