December 4, 2020

Later

Friday Lights out around ten, to sleep not long after, awakening at twenty minutes to six to listen (half listen) to the end of Rising Up With Sonali followed by the five minute KPFA news and Democracy Now!. Again. Headed out the door walking to breakfast on another cold clear morning to arrive at the usual time and settle in with but two papers, having received two copies of the New York Times and no Chronicle this morning. Let's hope this isn't the start of this kind of thing happening again.

The two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up a little early with but two papers to read and so off to walk home under a bright sun to take the usual series of pictures, just the few still holding out this late in the year, passing by what seemed fewer people than in the past. Got home and took the selfie before settling in at the computer to start on all this.

A call from Honda repair to learn they'd talked with the insurance company and were told they didn't cover a catalytic converter theft under the terms of my policy and so I was looking at well over three thousand dollars to replace the stolen converter, the muffler, tail pipe and two oxygen sensors. Do I really need to have it fixed and then have it stolen again? I'm guessing the people who got into the garage can easily as not get in the garage again.

Later. The laundry done, folded and hung. Can't let the important stuff be sidelined by car problems. The Air Index is Unhealthy For Some. Where does that come from? It's been Moderate or above now for some days, the news people saying the smoke is coming from local fireplaces and such and not from what's left of our various forest fires.

Evening. Nothing on television again, listened to the end of week news recap on PBS at nine, turned the lights out after the six minute news at ten and went to sleep. I'd bought a new set of sheets through Amazon on Tuesday, something I've needed to do for some time and when it came up on a link I pressed the button to have them arrive two days later.

The photo up top was taken at the 2016 San Francisco LGBT Pride Parade with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
