Play Again

Friday. Lights out at ten: good. Awake and up at six-oh-five: good. Off to breakfast on another clear morning, remembering to bring a paper napkin to dry the eyes as I was setting out into the morning cold. Also good.

And so it has gone. The Eggs Benedict, country potatoes, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast because I couldn't really thing of anything else when the waitress came to take my order. Read the papers, took a picture of the new gas prices and headed home. I am getting better at judging the focus/ISO/aperture settings required for this picture. I figure if I repeat taking it enough times it might filter for the better into my other shooting.

An excuse for taking the same mind numbingly boring picture over and over and over?

Not a bad excuse. And taking it does seem to keep me amused.

Bright sun. When's the last time I've gone downtown? Maybe lunch today at the City Center.

Later. A bus to the Broadway ATM and then a walk on to the City Center to see their tree in place for the first time, taking the annual reflected in an ornament picture. I'm in it there somewhere.

I'd headed for the bagel shop, thinking a chicken Caesar salad and coffee, and there were tables available on their patio, the temperature in the sun just fine, but for some reason walked on to the little convenience store and bought a small box of Good & Plenty. I obviously like the damned things and they were indeed good.

Over to the bus stop realizing I'd probably missed it by two or three minutes, but a free Broadway shuttle bus came along and so caught it to Grand and then a walk back to the apartment. A decent walk, the back aching a bit to prove it. (Add another promise at this point to get more exercise from now on.)

Later still. Watched more news and then went to the bed to watch a couple of the usual things on the tablet. Tired. No need for excuses. Best way to use of this late afternoon. Really.

Evening. Washington versus Colorado. Watching the game. Nothing else on, New Tricks isn't running any of their old episodes for some reason and the game didn't start until six-thirty, so we were able to get all the way through Democracy Now before switching. Always a Husky, I guess. At least when times are good and the weather is warm and it doesn't take too much effort.

You bailed with four minutes left to play.

It was forty-one to ten by then. Looks like they may have earned a shot against Alabama, whenever they're due to play again.

The photo up top was taken walking home from breakfast this morning with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 135mm f 2.0 DC Nikkor lens.
