Fowl

Tuesday. Lights out early again to awaken once during the night and then finally awaken to get up at six-thirty, running late on a cool overcast morning. A walk to breakfast with all three papers - there's some advantage in awakening and setting out somewhat later - to have the oatmeal, toast, fruit cup and coffee breakfast. A little slow in starting, but overall a decent beginning to another August day.

A walk home taking but one picture, still the overcast sky, still cool. In hearing what's been happening with Portland temperatures from my sister I have no complaints with this weather here whatsoever.

Later. Ended up taking a bus downtown, as I did yesterday, and ended up having lunch again at the bagel shop out at one of their tables, finishing up with another box of Good & Plenty. Well, yesterday I picked up the box of Good & Plenty before having lunch, today I did it after. You understand.

A walk back up Broadway to take pictures at the 17th Street construction site. Not as many people working as there were yesterday, maybe taking a later lunch break. A bus arrived just then at the stop across the street and so back home, ready to work on the Nihonmachi pages through the end of the day. As I did yesterday.

Hi, ho.

Well, why not? We've gotten in some walking and we're ready to sit down at the computer and get the damned things finished. Maybe sneak in a little guitar before dinner.

Later still. Got buried in the Nihonmachi files, realizing I should have just left them in the cobbled together state they'd been in and tacked on the one additional Nihonmachi section from Saturday as straightening them out has been complicated. Raised my head from the monitor around five to realize I'd zoned out and needed to lie down for thirty minutes, clear the head. We'll continue tomorrow.

Evening. Tried without success to watch something on the tablet. Nothing on television, checked out Charlie Rose and watched maybe five minutes of their discussion of the Democratic party's current disarray before heading for the tablet again and bed. They're going to discuss Trump's comments on North Korea in tomorrow's program. OK. Trump has genuinely made me nervous with his statement. Is this guy fish or fowl?

The photo up top was taken at the Nihonmachi Street Fair last Saturday with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
