Why

Friday. Really strong wind gusts and rain last night as I turned the lights out at nine. Loudest I've think I've heard wind and rain here at the apartment. Still, awake then a couple of minutes before six to get up and check the weather to find clouds, but no wind and no rain. Still drove to breakfast, telling myself I was taking no chances. (No East Bay Times had arrived by the time I'd set out. Again.)

I'd run a reset on the iPad last night to see if that might solve the slow, bounce me out of applications, problems and it seems to have had a positive effect. More testing today. The old, not quite stagnant, techie blood is aroused. Time to figure this crap out.

Had the oatmeal, rye toast, fruit cup and coffee breakfast, coming in just under one fifty-one this morning, one pound over target. Good. This new and unexpected skinnier me era continues without falter.

Another picture of the pandorea flower that had finished blooming this morning, the focus better. I should have squatted down lower to take the picture, but I'm finding I really don't want and probably can't much manage squats in the middle of a sidewalk anymore. Squats in the middle of anything anymore.

The drive home, still no rain, but it looks ominous enough and the Weather Underground people are saying more rain on the way later today and through tomorrow. Let's hope that it doesn't mess too much with the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japantown this weekend.

Later. It hasn't really been raining this morning or early afternoon, a couple of brief moments when it did, but I could easily have taken a walk without getting wet. In retrospect. Not hungry and they were, for some reason, running Law & Order episodes today and so I took a bath and watched.

I also got on the phone and canceled my BofA credit card now that I have one in hand from a local bank. I moved to this bank from Wells Fargo some time ago because I didn't want to support one of the “too big to fail” banks, but the new bank had turned me down for a credit card to replace the BofA card when I opened a checking and savings account. Some time later the new bank started sending me “please open a credit card account” letters and I finally made the move in these last couple of weeks. A procrastinator or I'd have done it sooner.

Later still. Set out to the 7-11 look-alike to pick up bean dip and Doritos. Who knows why I felt I could eat them over any of the other choices available. It's been a while since I've had them and so bean dip and Doritos was what appealed and so I bought them, brought them home and ate them. Bean dip and Doritos, inhaled as I sat and watched Syria dominate the news.

Evening. Nothing on television and so to bed. The tablet, by the way, has been working today without a glitch. Running a reset was the cure? What does a reset really do on an iPad? It was better after yesterday's reset, but solid as a rock today. Don't know why.

The photo up top was taken at the Saint Stupid's Day Parade yesterday in San Francisco with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
