Ladies and Gents Who Lunch photos

A recent lunch in Oakland

April 14th, 2004

In The Shower
There are fewer papers on the desk, there are more papers in folders in the file cabinets. How refreshing. How depressing. How unusual.

Life in the fast lane here, don't you think? Putting off your taxes until the last minute? What does that say about your general attitude? I think mine's getting better, but boy howdy have these ups and downs become an obsession. Still, the taxes are taken care of, the cameras are paid for, there are thoughts of ordering a car pretty quick and then saving every nickel for the rest of my life to climb up out of last month's slide into the spend or die American obsession. Two obsessions and it's only the second paragraph. It's also Wednesday, April the 14th and life is weird, but interesting.

We do have to start doing something more here, you know. This mindless prattle cannot go on forever.

Actually it can. Look at what passes for news on television. We've talked of this before to no avail, we'll talk about it again. I have no idea where this is going. I'm shooting pictures and writing bad copy. So be it. I will leave it to fate and fortune and a couple of evening whiskey and waters.

Which is to say nothing has changed.

Which is to say I wouldn't recognize change if she introduced herself to me in the shower.

The photograph was taken at a recent lunch in Oakland with a Nikon D2H mounted with a 70 - 200mm f 2.8 Nikkor (Nikon) lens.
