This location has gone through a couple of transitions, the last one a
good, but evidently failed Vietnamese trial that would have made this
list as well. The current Cambodian & Thai Cuisines incarnation is by
far the best. There are usually three or four lunch specials on their
chalk board and another 14 on the menu, all $4.95 including a small
salad, main entree and currently a drink such as lemonade, Cambodian
coffee or the like for which you would pay $1.50 to $2.00 at a similar
restaurant in the area.
This description has focused too much on price where the emphasis here should
be on presentation and quality. This is worth a try. Apsara is located just
down 12th on the corner of the block beyond Green's. A short walk for a good meal.
Walk down 12th from the office toward Lake Merritt. It's on the corner of
12th and xxxxxxxxxxxxx. Have lunch. Really. It's good.
